About me
I’m Jacqui, MSW, RSW (she/they), a queer therapist in Saskatoon who specializes in affirming and trauma-informed therapy for queer and trans folks (18+), as well as folks navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, self-criticism, identity exploration, and more. As a queer person myself, I aim to create a space where people feel cared for, affirmed, connected, and understood.
My approach to therapy
My therapy practice is collaborative and relational. I view therapy as political and shaped by broader societal structures, power dynamics and systemic inequalities.
Â
Because of this I operate from the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I use evidence based trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approaches that recognize how power and oppression shape the ways we understand ourselves and move through the world.
Â
My work is guided by queer theory, which aims to dismantle traditional expectations of people and critically examine the impact of societal norms on mental health.Â

I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches and draw primarily from Queer Theory-Informed Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Affirmative Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma therapy that can help people process traumatic experiences to help those memories feel less emotionally distressing.

I also have advanced education holding a master of social work.Â
